UNFOLD by Palut Marod
“The windows of the soul” was a definition of human senses given by the ancient Greek philosophers, Aristotle. Since the covid-19 pandemic, these senses has been locked as well as the lock down situation around the globe. UNFOLD, the art exhibition of a 49-year-old Thai artist “Palut Marod” is going to unfold the folded visitors’ senses that were shut during the pandemic through Palut’s first abstract pieces. “UNFOLD” art exhibition starts 30 October - 28 November 2021.
Palut Marod - Artist Statement
"All I want to do is Art"
Palut (nicknamed Art) Marod is a Thai artist who was born and raised in Nonthaburi, Thailand. Born in 1972, Palut knew from the very young age that all he wanted to do was to create “art”. Even when convention dictated that he should attend high school and college to work in ‘real professions’, he heeded his calling and went back to vocational schools to study art. It took him another four years before he was accepted into Silpakorn University – Thailand’s most prestigious college of fine arts.
During his study at Silpakorn University, Palut (Art) found that he liked to have fun with mixed media.
“Art is all about the experience, and what touches your heart. When I experience something, someone, or some events, I want to express it in my art. Each experience is dynamic and unique, so, the media and techniques I use also need to be as ever-changing and dynamic.”
